It is normal for Tangs of the Genus Naso to change colors/patterns for a number of reasons, including fright, feeding, and mood shifts among others. As long as there are no signs of disease, and your water parameters are within ideal range, the Tang should make a hardy addition. Just make sure it has a large aquarium (120+ gallons) with strong water movement, and keep it well feed with vitamin enriched foods designed for herbivores, and the Naso should thrive.
