When is the McCain/Palin campaign going to talk about this instead of worrying about 'lipstick' comments?

RECORD HIGH Trade deficit, joblessness, and the economy.

McCain/Palin have focused so damn much on 'lipstick on a pig' comments that they haven't even MENTIONED anything of importance like this.

Any reason why they haven't talked about issues instead of bashing the opponent?

Thoughts? When is the McCain/Palin campaign going to talk about this instead of worrying about 'lipstick' comments?
It's called diversion. Swift boats, gay marriage, flag burning, Willie Horton, etc., etc. It is the Republican method of diverting attention from the important issues and playing on the fears of the simple minded voters in the middle of the country. By the way, McCain used the ';lipstick on a pig'; line a number of times long before Obama said it. It is a common expression and had nothing to do with Ms. Palin. When is the McCain/Palin campaign going to talk about this instead of worrying about 'lipstick' comments?
that's the whole campaign, don't you see, before the lipstick, biden was talking about how plain jane as mayor tried to charge rape victims the test or kit that they needed to help with the case, right after that, the lipstick comment is all over the place, yet people fall to mention that mc pain said the same comment countless time to hillbilly during the primary, really so there whole campaign is working out just fine, but if you noticed that the existing cabinet in office when asked if mc pain had made the right choice, they all said that it's his campaign that he is running and she made a good speech, so also the republicans are prying on the stupidity of the american people, as you can see it's working to there advantage, there whole policy is to confuse the american people, and it's working
Yeah I'm really getting tired of BOTH parties acting this way and focusing on the real issues. And believe it or not Obama supporters your guys are doing it just as bad..lol. Thats how this whole lipstick bull crap got started remember? His little jab referring to Palin's Lipstick on a pit bull spill that wasn't even directed toward him. I think its funny how some of you think its a perfectly ran and tasteful campaign on his end and the only people who are disgracing politics are all the republican party.
Once people start to talk about the real issues, the glaring deficiency of the Republican policies over the last 8 years becomes so evident that such discussions will doom the party. That's why they work so hard at creating all these distractions.

The Republican party has raised the manipulating of the common voter to an art form. I'm reminded of a great line the late George Carlin came up with. He said that when you think about how stupid the average person is, consider that half of them are more stupid than that. The stupidity of the Republicans is almost impossible to imagine. All this talk about how great Palin is, when she is no more qualified than most of us, is frightening, because people are believing it.

This latest issue of the lipstick on the pig comment was, as we learned in high school English, what is called a metaphor. The pig was the failed republican policies of the last 8 years. The lipstick was referring to McCain's promises to do things differently. The Republicans pundits are not stupid. they know this, but they are counting on the common voters being stupid, and believing that the comment was an insult to Palin.

McCain's choice of Palin was pure politics at it's best....or more accurately at it's worst. It had nothing to do with what would be in the best interest of the country if something happened to him, but only who could help him to possibly win the election against impossible odds.

If McCain gets elected this country will truly deserve what it gets.
I haven't heard either candidate talk about that. Obama mentions it, but doesn't address solutions. In fact Obama is planning for an increase in social programs, which will only increase spending and make things worse. Increased taxes will increase revenues but decrease economic expansion. The deficit is so large now that only a strategy of economic expansion seems feasible to tackle it.
The Republican strategy is essentially simple. In a democracy, they must avoid talking about the issues because their policies are designed to help only the affluent. To avoid the issues, they focus on bogus issues because if they focused on the real issues affecting the great majority of Americans, they would lose votes.
I agree.

All they know how to do is resort to character assassination of their opponents.

When will America wake up and realize that they fell for this foolishness before?

Our country is in dire straits and all Palin can do is go around using the same lame speech about Obama.

And not take any questions from the press.

Again, when will America wake up?
It is a classic ad hominem attack. If you don't have any credibility, one way to distract people from your lack of credibility is to make personal attacks on your opponent.

LOL @ td
I'm waiting for all of the candidates to start talking about real issues. I would also like to see an independent in the debates.
Turnabout is fair play, since that's all Obama did to Clinton during the primaries.
