I have dark hair, light blue eys and pale I suppose, though I hate it! I read that red lipstick looks good with dark hair, does it look good with pale skin? Or is it a bit vampish. I have never tried red before, will it stand out too much?What colour lipstick?
My colouring sounds similar to you and recently i went to buy some mac foundation, and asked for advice on other products.She told me to avoid (on cheeks and lips)anything with blue/purple tones because they are quite draining to people with pale skin she suggested peachy tones.Have to be honest peach makes me think of the lipstick my grandmother wore but i let her try it and i love it.I took a very very !!peachy blush but only use tiny amount on brush and looks great.The lipstick is quite subtle with a slight sheen and 2 people have said to me that its a lovely colour .Maybe go to a counter and ask advice.i love make up!!!!What colour lipstick?

I have blue eyes/pale skin, and i really don't like red lip stick on me. It looks to bright, and stands out alot. I like soft pinks, and apricot colors. But if your trying to make the main attention your lips, then try something darker.
But make sure you wear what you think look goods on you!

It will feel strange at first but yes red will look good. Try putting it on at home so that you get used to yourself with such a different colour lipstick. That way you wont feel so self conscious when you go out wearing it

I wearing lipstick no 216 Royal Red by Constance Carroll at the moment. I have dark hair and I`m over 50. If I looked too vampish I`m sure my husband would have said so, `cos he can be very critical! Go for it, get one and try it. I don`t like to look too `pale`, makes me look bland, boring and plain!
I also have dark brown hair, light coloured eyes and a pale complexion. Red lipstick is too 'draining'. I find that a coral pink or goldy peach colour is much more flattering.

I suggest you put a little bit of gloss or a light brown line on your lips with gloss in the middle.
do NOT do that, it will make you seem like you are trying to grab attention, also it will make you look even paler than you already are!!! use something like pink, go for a natural look, it will make you look relaxed, and effortless put together.. :)
I think it would look awesome did you see Cameron Diaz at the golden globes? Her hair is now dark brown and she has blue eyes she had a lovely red lipstick on and looked beautiful.I say go for it!
It looks great with pale skin, just go for a cool toned red, not an orangey one. It's very in with the forties revival at the mo.

What color lipstick would look best on my skin complexion? pics included?
It is extremely difficult for me to find a lipstick that is not too overbearing for my complexion. If I wear a bold red, it is too vibrant.. and I am too dark for a sheer pink. What color would you suggest? I would also like to know from someone who knows about make up, whether my skin has red undertones or yellow.

i would go to MAC and get matched by someone. MAC has alot of nice shades of lipstick but for darker women i love Fresh Moroccan for the perfect red, Brick-O-La for a nice pinkish berry color and Strength for natural days.

But the only way to have them not match and not look totally tacky is to have one neutral. I mean, red fingers and purple lips will CLASH! But a neutral, skin colored lip with a bright nail will be fab.

Someone mentioned that you shouldn't match your lips to your cheeks or that the color, in essence, should be that noticeable. But I strongly disagree. This is a personal choice. Oh, for the record, I'm a professional make-up artist. This doesn't mean that I'm self ordained or that a make-up line educated me at a seminar. It means that I paid thousands of dollars for an education in all make-up medias - at a college.
I don't think that you should be ';matching'; your lip color with your cheek color. And your cheek color shouldn't be so heavy that you should worry about what goes with it. Put the cheek color on light so that it looks natural and choose your lip color depending on how you do your eyes. If your eyes are done up darker then use a lighter shade of lip color so that your lips aren't competing with your eyes. If your eyes are done up more natural or lighter then go a little darker with the lip color.
I wouldn't go too dark for your skin tone. Like if you are fair skinned I wouldn't advise wearing a dark berry color. I like the lip color Apricot from Mary Kay. It gives a nice natural look but adds color at the same time.

coral-pink blush would go great with a shimmery nude color li gloss. but if you want people to concentrate more on your blush then you should just slather on clear ligloss and line your eyes, bottom lid only, with dark brown eyeliner. then blink slightly hard. hope i helped.

Someone mentioned that you shouldn't match your lips to your cheeks or that the color, in essence, should be that noticeable. But I strongly disagree. This is a personal choice. Oh, for the record, I'm a professional make-up artist. This doesn't mean that I'm self ordained or that a make-up line educated me at a seminar. It means that I paid thousands of dollars for an education in all make-up medias - at a college.
I don't think that you should be ';matching'; your lip color with your cheek color. And your cheek color shouldn't be so heavy that you should worry about what goes with it. Put the cheek color on light so that it looks natural and choose your lip color depending on how you do your eyes. If your eyes are done up darker then use a lighter shade of lip color so that your lips aren't competing with your eyes. If your eyes are done up more natural or lighter then go a little darker with the lip color.
I wouldn't go too dark for your skin tone. Like if you are fair skinned I wouldn't advise wearing a dark berry color. I like the lip color Apricot from Mary Kay. It gives a nice natural look but adds color at the same time.

coral-pink blush would go great with a shimmery nude color li gloss. but if you want people to concentrate more on your blush then you should just slather on clear ligloss and line your eyes, bottom lid only, with dark brown eyeliner. then blink slightly hard. hope i helped.

well if your going to use lipstick you should use something that sort of matches your skin tone. but i would recommend lip gloss instead. even just a clear gloss will look great. or a light pink gloss. :]

I personally have NEVER heard of that before. That would either be freckles or a disease. I research make-up constantly and have never even heard a hint of that. But, just onto the good lipsticks. My favorite, without completely going bankrupt is Cliniques Buttershine in Delovely. You can get it at any Belk or Dillards for about $14. Estee Lauder and Sephora carry very nice lipsticks and glosses also. Remember that old saying: Believe nothing that you hear and only half of what you read? It still applies.

Blotting gloss seems really counterproductive to me. Perhaps you need a more sheer red gloss. Cover girl makes a very good sheer red. You can blot lipstick to both mute the color or to make it more like a stain so it will last longer. (Ooh! Try a red lip stain!)
As for lipstick, you will need to experiment with different shades of red. If the one you're trying is too blue in tone, try a warmer brick or orangey red. If it's too warm, try a cooler tone.
Also, you may find that just one color won't do it for you. Take a few different reds and blend away.Are u meant to blot red lipstick/lipgloss?

It depends on a lot of things. With your skin tone it's really a hit or miss. If your skin tone is yellow toned/beige, as you say, naturally, then wearing it might look childish. But if you're darker than your natural skin tone, because of a tan, which tends to show as a different shade, you could probably pull it off much easier with almost any eye shadow, as long as it isn't bright. If I were you, I'd go with a shad that was pale and looked like more of a natural shade with maybe a slight shimmer, with a light brown liner.
If its natural, you want to do your eyes in a way that makes them look like you did makeup but that you know what you're doing. I'd suggest a simple medium brown shadow that starts at the tip of your top eyelid and then fades up towards your eyebrow, but make sure it doesnt go too high up. I don't know if it's a lip stick or a lip gloss but my friend bought it from the UK and it looks like a pen but at the top it's like a paintbrush. try using a light shimmery pink color in the cupid's bow. this is the dip in the middle of your top lip. you can also try a product from benefit that essentially is the same thing
also try using a pale shimmery color in the middle of your bottom lip under your lip gloss or lipstick to make your lips look fuller
also try a lip plumper
Dark lipstick will point out how thin they are because it will be a very strong color on your face. Try %26amp; take some light colored or white powder shadow and barely tap the crevice in your up lipper and right below the center of your bottom lip and it will enhance your lips and make them look fuller

primer if you have some, if not them just vaseline!, just a tiny bit!
or, what i do now, use a small bit of foundation, then a bit of loose/compact powder to make your lips mroe skin coloured, then draw the lips back in with lip liner, then get a lip BRUSH, and DAB that onto the lipstick then DAB it onto your lips. Looks more perfectly done, and lasts longer!
But if all else fails, using it straight on ya lips is fine!

Why don't you try it on girl? Don't ask us! We don't know EXACTLY what you look like, and my friend is pale and blonde and she doesn't look all that great in red lipstick. Usually pale blonde people look awesome in red lipstick, so try it on, and if it doesn't work, just take it off! Good luck honey!

u sure can! just go with reds with blue undertones. if you pick the wrong red it can make u look like a cheap hooker or worse, have yellow teeth...best bet? go to a makeup counter and have them choose one for ya! go to a few different ones untill u like it too! have fun, that look is def hot for night. also, i actually use lip glosses with a hint of red and i usally wear pale too, and it really brightens them up!

Well, it depends on the exact shade of red you're planning on using. Since you're blonde and pale, go for a bright orangey red instead of a darker red. I'm sure you'll be able to pull it off, just be confident and you'll be fine.
