What is the reason women started wearing lipstick?

When women are aroused or excited their lips get fuller and redder from the rush of blood to the area. In an effort to mimick this, consciously or otherwise women began trying to recreate this effect to appear more attractive to men, Whether all this came about as a subconscious reaction to human nature or was a consious decision is up for debate. What is the reason women started wearing lipstick?
I'm going to give a completly different answer.. which is to draw mens eyes to their lips when they are speaking, and away from their cleavage!!What is the reason women started wearing lipstick?
the first one was oxblood in 1930- to underline her beauty
ask cleopatera, i think she started wearing it. people from Mulan's time did too.
don't know
cuz ur mama wear some
someone got some red berry juice on their lips and someone else was like, hey, that looks good! and so everyone esle startyed doing it. probably.
It was used to attract men's attention but it was often thought of as being a dangerous and vulger thing to do. In Elizabethian times many women wore lipstick but others didnt for fear of being thought easy. Good question!
actually it started becos woman wanted to moist thier lips. and soon it turns into color and it became cosmetics
Seems like makeup is all about exaggerating characteristics, so I'd say to exaggerate and emphasize the lips. That's more or less why I rouge my balls. Same principle.
to cover the color of the lips to make it look like they haven't smoked weed.
To make their lips more noticeable ...so that they can be kissed.

I have read something too.......which had to do with sexuality and other lips......think about it !:-)

It seems that in all cultures, women painted their lips using condiments, crushed insects....etc

Strangely enough : lots of men DO not like lipstick !!

Lipsticks first appeared in the ancient city of Ur, near Babylon, 5000 years ago. Semi-precious stones such as lapis lazuli and malachite were ground to be used as eye shadows. It is said Cleopatra's lipsticks were made from finely crushed carmine beetles which made a deep red pigment. This was then mixed with ant's eggs as a base for the lipsticks. Yummy. they started using it for vanity even in the old days but it was considered witch craft for a time since it attracs males

........=D
they wanna look pretty
it was probably a mans idea
Because they wanted to enhance their lips? Make it look more attraction!!
to make there lips look fuller
